The Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters' Association (EIB) has underlined the critical role of strict cold chain practices at every stage, from the harvest of seafood products to their arrival at the consumer’s table. The Association highlighted the commitment of its members to food safety, quality, and freshness, underscoring the sector’s adherence to high operational standards.

The statement draws attention to three key aspects of the cold chain process:

Temperature-controlled logistics: Maintaining stable, ideal temperatures during transportation helps prevent microbial risks and extends shelf life.

Full compliance with food safety and quality standards: All production and transportation processes are aligned with both national and EU regulations, ensuring traceability and accountability.

Maximum freshness retention: The cold chain begins immediately at the time of harvest, preserving the natural taste and texture of seafood products until they reach the end consumer.

EIB officials emphasized that these practices not only strengthen the domestic market but also enhance Turkey’s competitive edge in global seafood exports. The system, which promises “not only taste but also trust”, is seen as an integral part of a sustainable and responsible production approach.
