Supplies increased by 15% to $153 million in value terms. In particular, imports of frozen trout increased by more than 40% to almost 18,000 tonnes, and imports of chilled trout increased by almost 80% to 9,000 tonnes. Analysts said one of the reasons for the increase in supplies is the reduction of the price (in dollars) by 25% and 15%, respectively.

Imports of frozen sea bass increased by 25% to 500,000 tonnes, and imports of frozen dorado decreased by 35% to 1,100 tonnes. "Such dynamics are due to price fluctuations: the cost of sea bass has decreased by 10% from last year, and the cost of dorado, on the contrary, has increased by 20%. Sea bass was 16% more extensive than dorado last year, and this year it's 13% cheaper," it said.
The supply of chilled sea bass in the first halves of the past three years remains at a level of 1,100 tonnes, which is 40% below the 2021 figures. Imports of chilled dorado have decreased by 20% to 1,200 tonnes from last year amid the increasing price of the product.

More than 50% of Turkish exports of frozen fish and 14% of exports of chilled fish go to Russia, it said. Frozen fish accounts for 58% of Russia's fish and seafood imports from Turkey (in monetary terms).
